Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced Lead Foreman to work in our southern division, which is based in Wytheville, Virginia, and includes Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and surrounding states.

A background in heavy civil and/or industrial construction is a must. The Lead Foreman needs to have at least five years of supervisory experience and carpentry experience.

A Day in the Life of the Lead Foreman

As the Lead Foreman at Brayman, you will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that the project and personnel remain focused on quality and workmanship that safely meets the company standards and the schedule requirements. You will oversee the daily workflow of craft personnel and carpenters and will perform the duties of a carpenter yourself. In addition to the hands-on role of the Foreman's job, there will be daily and weekly paperwork that you will need to complete.

Job Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities of the Lead Foreman:

  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years carpentry experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
