Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced Project Manager who is looking for an engaging opportunity to grow with our southern division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work out of our Wytheville, Virginia, office and travel to assigned job sites as needed. The Project Manager will be responsible for contract management, change orders, preparation of subcontracts, project scheduling, project financial forecasting, quantities, invoicing, resource allocation and coordination, estimating, and material pricing/project buyout.

A background in heavy civil/industrial construction is a must. Both private and public work experience is a plus. Experience on Post Tension Concrete bridges, marine work and the ability to travel will be given top priority.

A Day in the Life of the Project Manager

The Project Manager in the southern division will have an office at our new facility in Wytheville, Virginia. We can offer a professional setting in a small office environment with access to all top tier necessities.

The Project Manager will regularly interact with Project Owners, Architects and Project Engineers. The PM will be responsible for project adherence to project safety guidelines, contract management, change orders, preparing subcontracts, project scheduling, quantities/invoicing, overall quality control of projects, and financial forecasting. The Project Manager is responsible for project supervision and will have the opportunity to spend time on job sites.

Job Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Flexibility to adapt to new challenges
  • HCSS/Primavera P6/Viewpoint a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office concentrations in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong ability to interpret specifications and specific project requirements
  • Ability to forecast project future cost and revenues.
  • Candidates local to VA/NC/WV preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience in heavy highway construction
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy civil/industrial construction
