Summary:

As the Corporate Quality Control Program Director, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's Quality Control Program.  In addition, the Director will be responsible for ensuring non-conformance is addressed timely throughout the corporation and its affiliates.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration, technical direction and updates on all elements of the Corporate Quality Control Program
  • Provide assistance to entire corporation and affiliates including specific projects as necessary
  • Write, review and modify site-specific quality control policies and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and assist with submittals and proposals
  • Support quality control meetings at projects as necessary
  • Support site superintendents and foremen with implementing proper work practices in accord with corporate Quality Control policies/procedures, project specifications and customer requirements
  • Oversee Quality Control training and certification program
  • Lead non-conformance investigation efforts to document findings.  Develop lessons learned to prevent reoccurrence
  • Monitor job site quality control inspections and review reports; follow up as required
  • Oversee instrument inspections, orders, replacements and calibration 

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or Manufacturing Production Management and 15+ years of experience in general/heavy civil construction industry and 10 years progressive experience with Structural/Mass Concrete
  • USACE CQC Systems Manager experience a plus
  • Proficient in reading plans and specifications
  • Experience with construction/material inspection, testing and certification
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, excellent communicator, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling software - Primavera preferred
  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001 a plus
  • Must be willing to travel or relocate as necessary for projects

 

Work Environment:

  • Works both indoors and outdoors.
  • Environment can be dirty and noisy.
  • Wears appropriate protective clothing and equipment including gloves, ear protection and respirators when necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting up to 50 LBS.
  • Stands frequently and walks about the work areas
  • Occasionally stretches up and across when completing daily tasks
  • Squatting, crouching or kneeling may be required occasionally.
  • Twisting the body or neck may be required occasionally.
  • Bending is occasionally required to facilitate the lifting of items used daily
  • Contact with skin irritants or water may occur during certain processes
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements are required when operating machinery.
  • The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
